I’m currently offering guided training programs directed at achieving a specific endurance goal. That may be training to complete a triathlon, training to improve a personal best time in a running event or cycling time trial, or, for those who have unlimited time to train, maximising endurance potential by focusing on long term development.
Initial assessment of physiological status is a fundamental process when starting an endurance training program. It is impossible to get to where you are going if you don’t know where you are.
For most individuals, some simple heart rate metrics, plus a submaximal incremental test, will be enough to determine an initial physiological profile on which to base training. These same simple metrics can be used to monitor progress and ensure the training regime is eliciting positive change.
Resistance training is an important component of any endurance training program. A suitable resistance training regime will help avoid injury, contributing to training consistency, enhance comfort when training and when performing everyday tasks, and enhance endurance performance through development of biomechanical efficiency.
I endeavour to prescribe the minimum amount of resistance training necessary to achieve the desired outcomes.
The onboarding process involves:
- Establishment of the goal.
- An analysis of previous training sessions, tests, and race results, if any, and associated physiological markers, such as, heart rate, pace, and power output.
- Determination of injury history.
- Initial physiological testing – which I will be available to supervise.
- Development of resistance training regime – I will be available to explain and demonstrate the exercises.
As soon as the above has been completed, I will send through a weekly program directed towards achieving the goal. I will be available to discuss the initial program in person and direct attention to important training cues. For the most part though, individuals will be required to complete the training on their own, but I will be available to supervise some key, higher intensity training sessions when appropriate.
The expectation is that individuals will send me the data from their training sessions for assessment.
The cost for the service is $45 per week, plus an additional small fee for my requested personal attendance at any test sessions, training sessions, resistance exercise demonstrations etc.

Very much looking forward to starting the next chapter of my life.
